The planning of the new TNT production facility in Noormarkku, Pori is progressing
Forcit is planning to invest more than 200 million euros in building a new TNT production facility in Noormarkku, Pori. The design phase is ongoing, and the permitting process is now also moving forward.

“Noormarkku was selected as the location for the production facility based on a comprehensive overall assessment. The chosen site for the TNT plant provides sufficient safety distances while also offering excellent transport connections – with the nearby port being a significant advantage,” says Forcit CEO Joakim Westerlund.
A preliminary agreement has been signed for the purchase of the land area from A. Ahlström Kiinteistöt Oy, whose properties will also serve as the plant’s main safety buffer zone.
The primary objective of the facility is overall safety. The plant’s production and logistics solutions will be designed with careful consideration for the environment, surrounding residential areas, and local natural characteristics. A significant portion of the investment will be directed towards purification technologies and closed-loop chemical systems, ensuring that the facility will not have any impact on local water bodies.
The project is being developed in close cooperation with the Finnish Defence Administration, relevant authorities, and local communities. The initiative is expected to have a notable impact on national defence and military security of supply, as well as regional employment.
