The household biowaste collection program:
Keräämö and Gasum Oy have made an agreement on the processing of biowaste. The biowaste will be transported to Gasum’s Honkajoki plant, where it will be converted into biogas for industry and fertilizers for agriculture. In the biogas plant’s process, the biowaste is crushed and liquefied before being directed to the digestion reactors. The annual amount of biowaste in the Keräämö area is estimated to be around 4,000–4,500 tons.
